“I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat, or a prostitute.” ― Rebecca West, The Young Rebecca: Writings, 1911-1917

Get Off Your Cell Phone!
"According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration more than 3,000 people lost their lives last year in distraction-related accidents," or to be more direct while they were using their cell phones to talk or text. But that's just the deaths they can count since many of those who cause accidents deny being on their phones and the others are dead--as in dead, gone, kaput, in the grave, lost forever. Three Thousand plus lives, more than the number of people who lost their lives on 9/11, and we went to war over that, killing well over 100,000 people in the process. If you use your cell phone while driving, whether to initiate or answer calls, whether it's a hand-held phone or a voice activated phone, you are putting not only your own life at risk but the lives of others on the road. You're as selfish and immature and irresponsible as the man or woman who takes the wheel after drinking too much. What's more, research indicates that you're even more likely to cause an accident than the drunk driver. So why do you do it? Is talking to your boss, your spouse, your child, your friend so important that you're willing to kill someone else's spouse, child, or friend. Be a mensch, get off your cell phone when driving. And stay off. The life you save may be mine.
