Go Green! Go Jill!

Jill Stein has replaced Raph Nader as the Green Party's nominee this year, and that's good news.  Nader had become a liability--around too long and a bit too full of himself I thought.  Nonetheless, he did a lot of good in this country so I'll use this moment to say thank you, Ralph.  But I'm delighted with the new head of the Greens.  She's a doctor, Harvard educated, and has actually run against Romney in the past, when he was running for governor of Massachusetts.  And finally, the Green Party will get matching funds from the federal government, mainly because a sufficient number of people like me realized that voting for a third party in a state that the Democrats had hands down would help to secure federal funds for the Green Party.  It's taken a while but it's finally coming into its own. Now if enough people (15%) say they plan to support the Green Party before the debates Stein will also be on the stage with Obama and Romney--unlikely but one can hope.  Read about Jill Stein in today's Times:

Party Strains to Be Heard Now That Its Voice Isn’t Nader’s
