Romney betrays U.S. interests for votes!

Romney does it again, but this time it's far far worse than suggesting the Brits are not ready to hold an Olympics.  That was just foot-in-the-mouth disease, a condition Romney has suffered from for decades.  Yesterday his remarks to Jewish fund raisers (with Adelson, his biggest American-Jewish supporter sitting next to him) are grounds for accusing him of selling out American interests for money and votes.  At a fund raiser in the King David hotel, he said that Jewish culture accounts for the economic disparity between citizens of Israel and those in the occupied Palestine.

‘’As you come here and you see the GDP per capita, for instance, in Israel which is about $21,000 dollars, and compare that with the GDP per capita just across the areas managed by the Palestinian Authority, which is more like $10,000 per capita, you notice such a dramatically stark difference in economic vitality,’’ Romney said.
We know it hasn't escaped him that the occupied territories are, dah, occupied, with restrictions on trade, movement, and just about everything else that impedes economic success.  I remember when I was in high school (Romney and I are close in age) seeing pictures of the cardboard huts that the displaced Palestinians were forced to occupy in the Gaza strip. No doubt, Romney was too busy bullying his gay classmates to have time to read about what was happening in the world outside Michigan. But he's not stupid, and he knows how ridiculous his comments are yet he went on to compound the damage stating that Jerusalem belongs to Israel.  The latter is one of the sticking points to finding an agreement in creating a separate Palestinian state, and one that requires diplomacy to resolve.

If Romney is elected president, we can be sure that there will be no peace in the middle east while he is in office.  Because of his remarks yesterday, he will never be trusted by any Palestinian or for that matter by any other Arab leader. Establishing peace in the middle east is in the best U.S. interests; starting another war is not, and that's where Romney is moving, toward war with Iran.  The why is obvious:  to secure money and votes in the coming election.  I'm hoping that most American Jewish voters see just how unprincipled Romney is, and I suspect they will.   I just wish that other Americans were equally astute.

  1. Romney and company don't want peace. Mission accomplished in that respect. What I can't understand is the support he allegedly is getting. You have to be brain dead or just plain bloodthirsty to cheer on a cretin like that. He is an empty shell, stuffed with contempt for Americans that aren't business owners.

  3. Your logic eludes me. Do I mention Obama in my blog--I don't believe I do. No, he's not doing a great job regarding Israel. Needs to be much tougher on settlements and let's stop sending Israel billions every year. If their culture is the cause of their success why should we supplement them? Send it to the occupied territories.
