And it continues!

Finally got to Maine and it was at least as bad as I had been warned.  Drove four hours from Portland sure I'd do something awful with the car, as I'm a god-awful driver.  But made it safely--hooray.  Today after dealing with all kinds of issues I finally had time to go shopping, mainly for cleaning products for cat tracks and mildew.  As I was reversing my car I remembered how my sister hit the stone wall by my house twice when she was visiting so I give it plenty of berth, forgetting about the telephone pole on the other side of the driveway, and I caught my side view mirror on the pole, so tried to go forward and cut the door in two spots.  Just then, thank god, my neighbor stopped by to say hello and give me cucumbers from his garden.  He had to get into the car to dislodge it.  So in the end, the accident I was dreading happened the second day out.

Called American Express and was told don't worry we'll take care of it.  But I have the car for another 29 days and don't want to drive back to Portland--can't see anything out the side mirror.  So what else can happen?  A hurricane, perhaps.
