Tonight I'm hearing how "moved" officials are in Connecticut about the murder of some 18 children and six adults, and all I can think, with great cynicism, is "oh please." You're not moved, if you were moved, you would have done something in the last twenty years to prevent this happening again, and again, and again. We are a nation of hypocrites, and also of murderers. I hope very much that all the parents of the murdered children were for gun control so they can at least have some peace during this horrific time of mourning. And if they were not for gun control, perhaps, finally, they'll acknowledge that thier child is dead because they really didn't care--it's always some other person's child that dies!
And if the above offends, too damn bad. We are a nation that adores violence--witness "Zero Dark Thirty." There are no excuses!
