Musings!

Sorry all my political readers but this blog is totally without political content.  But knowing me, it might get there as I write.  I am a captive of the "political leftist angel." I wonder if there really are angels, and if, like the rest of us, they have leanings?

I've spent the last two days trying to find a way to cross the Atlantic without flying (here comes the politics), and since 9/11 traveling by air is a huge pain, an unnecessary pain only devised to pretend we're securing our citizens from terrorists.  Anyway, all politics aside,  I've been wanting to go to Spain for a while to visit my late husband's family, and also to Italy to see friends from my days living there.  So I spent the last two days on internet sites looking at every possible way of not flying. Today I found (remarkably) a very reasonable trip on Cunard's Queen Mary 2, leaving May 3 from New York.  I booked a reservation and will debark at Southampton seven days later, and from England will travel to Italy or Spain.  Haven't decided how I will do that, but still very excited at all the possibilities.

Miguel and I loved adventures and I miss the fun we had in those days, looking up trips and often deciding at the last minute, depending on price, to fly to wherever.  So, in the current vernacular, I'm a happy camper.  It should be fun although using the internet at sea is so expensive I doubt I'll do any posting between embarking on May 3 and debarking on May 8. But that's a long way from now.

Perhaps I'll write a trip blog.  Should be fun.
