Republican Racism!

Today I am totally disheartened by the racist ugliness that permeates this country.  Words usually flow from me but commenting on Newt Gingrich's racism has been very difficult.  It made me physically sick to hear Gingrich call Obama the food stamp president, as he does over and over again.  And he's not the only Republican candidate race baiting--they all are.  I don't like Obama, but not because he's a leftist, but because he's not. He's a moderate and if this were the 1970's he'd be a Rockefeller Republican.  It's apparent that the hatred Republicans feel for Obama has nothing to do with leftist politics and everything to do with his race.  They can't stand the thought that a black man with a black family (and mind you Obama is culturally more white than black) occupies the White House.  The Republican nominees play to this racist hatred every way they can.  It's horrifying. Anyone who continues to call himself or herself a Republican is a racist, plain and simple. The fiscal Republicans of the 1960's disappeared decades ago, replaced by nasty, ignorant, uneducated, small minded, ugly racists. Let's have the courage to say so to their faces.
