Running for Pink Ribbons, Inc. - Life - Macleans.ca
Click on the link above to read about the documentary, released today in Canada, on the Komen Foundation. The film expresses what I've felt for quite a while about the Susan G. Komen Foundation and its pink campaign. As a breast cancer survivor, I know from other survivors that many of us hate Komen pink (kitchen mixers, yoghurt containers, buckets of fried chicken), mainly because we believe that the vast sums of money raised by Komen changed very little in the breast cancer story. Only 25% of the money Komen collects goes to curing cancer and perhaps that's one of the reasons. It's time for women, particularly those of us who have been there, to say no to pink. Let's cure cancer, not decorate it with ribbons.
