Finally, some good news!

The death sentence of a black man was nullified today in Kentucky because he was able to prove that the prosecutors in the case demonstrated racial bias.  The prosecutor refused to allow black jurors on the case.  I realize that in our very racism country this is not great news but at least we're seeing some movement, and not in this case because of the Supreme Court, with its four right-wing justices, all of whom profess to be Catholic:  Roberts, Thomas, Scalia, and Alito.  And to think I was so proud when JFK became the first Catholic president.  How much has changed.

And since I'm on race, I want to emphasize that the virulent dislike of Obama by so many, particularly those who call our very centrist president a socialist, is nothing more than horror on their parts that an African-American occupies the White House.  As much as I was against Obama during the last Democratic  primary and still believe that Hillary Clinton would have made a far better president Obama is our president, and far far better than anything the Republicans have to offer.  And he, for sure, would have eaten the damned cookie!
