Viva la France! Viva Francois!

France's new leader Francois Hollande promised his people when he ran for office that he would withdraw his country's troops from Afghanistan by the end of the year.  Rather amazing, particularly to those of us who reflect on Obama's evolving promises, Hollande announced today he'll do just that.  France will withdraw its troops by the end of the year, with a very small contingent left to provide training. And this is two years before the remainder of the allies expect to withdraw their troops. Is it possible, you think, that Obama might actually realize from Hollande's example that a promise given is a promise to keep? Viva Francois Hollande!
