Any chance we can change?

Americans are the the least likely to suffer from "green guilt" about their environmental impact, despite trailing the rest of the world in sustainable behavior, according to a new National Geographic survey.
I won't reprint the article here but it's rather discouraging to find that the people most responsible for the adverse effect on the environment also feel the least guilty about it and are doing the least to change their behavior.  And in answer to my question, and considering the political environment, I suspect the answer is "no," we can't change.  Sigh!
