I just finished reading an article discussing the still on-going support of Joe Paterno by Penn State football players. The Freeh report which was released this week definitively places Paterno in the midst of the scandal. He knew in 1998 of Sandusky's abuse of young boys and did nothing to stop it--in fact, from the Freeh report it would appear that Paterno was the prime mover for not reporting Sandusky to the authorities, which permitted Sandusky to continue to abuse boys for another ten years. And the reason, to avoid adverse publicity to the University and in the end to Paterno, who was able to negotiate a 5.5 million dollar settlement when he resigned a few months before he died. Paterno's family is now trying to defend him. Of course! His family is the prime recipient of the $5.5 million retirement settlement as Paterno is now dead. Does anyone have any integrity in this case.
Apparently not!
