God's Plan

In an interview today, George Zimmerman said that he had no regrets about the killing of Treyvon Martin--that it was God's Plan.  We are surrounded by religious maniacs who use God to justify every type of cruelty and viciousness.  I've always been something of a passive non-believer, of the view that atheism isn't a religion and shouldn't be treated as such.  Perhaps it's time to take a more active interest in stamping out religion, of every kind.
