If you don't like listening to folks whine then don't read, but I really need to get it out of my system. My caretaker from Maine called this morning: (1) a few radiators are leaking and he can't fix so needs to get in a plumber, (2) dishwasher is leaking and probably can't be fixed, (3) fixed main leak in basement which required town to dig up front lawn--still dug up, (4) cat that got into house left mud tracks everywhere including on white couch in living room. Pretty awful he says, so be prepared. Found out by accident that new American Express insurance I applied for doesn't cover third party liability and Maine requires liability insurance, so if I purchase it from Alamo it will double my rate! My Lenovo laptop is so slow I can't bring it with me so will have to do writing (purpose of going to Maine) on my iPad--ugh. Left shoulder is hurting so I suspect I need another cordisone shot, but too late to do it now.
Almost thought of cancelling trip but I did that three years running which is why, I suppose, the house is such a mess. Anyway, I'm pretty sure someone broke in since the front door was open, which allowed the cat to get in through broken window in basement. Tim says it doesn't look like anything is missing but he wouldn't really know.
Right now I'm thinking of all the people bombed out of their homes in Iraq, all the unemployed and poor in the world, all those without health insurance and telling myself, "suck it up." You're luckier than most. And I am--at least I have a house.
Still, sigh!
Holding up well considering all your problems.
