Obama Strikes, Finally!

I've been off my game lately, in the political sense that is, unable to find any enthusiasm for the coming election.  Instead I've had a feeling of gloom, and not because the Republicans might win, but gloom about both parties, the American people, their lack of knowledge on policy and fact, and the love of rancor that seems to permeate our electorate.  So I suppose I shouldn't have been angry at Obama for throwing the first debate.  I can imagine that he might have felt similarly, the belief that no matter what you do, you just can't succeed, that the will isn't there.

I missed tonight's debate as well; just couldn't stand to hear any more of Romney's lies and changes in position, and also afraid that Obama would once again let him get away with it.  But I did watch the after shows and there were plenty of clips of the night's debate--and I gave equal time to Fox and MS-NBC.  (Some times it's good to hear what the opposition has to say.)  Obama did finally get his energy back, and with the help of Candy Crowley ended the evening well.  He not only got in a zinger on Romney's 47%, of which I'm one (no matter all those years that I paid very high taxes on a high income; now I'm a taker, at least according to Romney).  But Crowley put the final touch to the evening by correcting Romney when he accused of Obama of lying about his comment in the Rose Garden.  How was Romney not prepared for that one!

Perhaps it's only the beginning, not the end.  I may even watch the next debate!  Thanks Obama for the come back.  I wonder if he got any coaching from Bill Clinton.  I do miss that man.

  1. You should have listened a little longer, Crowley apologized for her misleading statement about Obama's rose garden speech. Romney was not incorrect. Remember Obama spent two weeks saying the burning/killing at the U.S. Embassy was caused by a video (let's not forget his appearance at the U.N.)or his commercial apologizing to the Muslim world on Pakistani t.v. What remains is whether Hillary was thrown under the bus or she threw Obama under the bus with her statement. I'm surprised you would support someone of his character.
