Addicted!

Today I'm addicted to TV, clicking from channel to channel to get every drop of blood from yesterday's election.  In the past, I would start watching at about 6:00 p.m. election night and not stop watching until someone conceded and someone else did a victory lap.  But I was so nervous yesterday that Obama might lose that I couldn't watch for most of the night.  I watched episode after episode of Law & Order returning to MS-NBC on occasion to see the results. So today I'm trying to recapture the feeling of elation.

Of course, the Republicans are being their usual obstinate selves.  The Democrats won big yesterday, actually increasing their share of the Senate and Obama won all but one of the battle ground states.  A big win!  The Democrats now have 54 senators and in all probability two independents, and Joe Biden in case of ties.  Yet, John Boehner, Republican head of the house offered nothing today, no increase in taxes.  Obama, please listen!  You have four more years--be an FDR, tell the other party to get lost if they refuse to work with you. That's what FDR did, and he had the most successful presidency in our history.  Reconcile, issue executive orders, do whatever is permitted under the Constitution to move our country forward.

I'm so happy! Please don't take that away from me.
